About Headlamp for Families
We built this
because we couldn't find it.
Headlamp for Families was built by practitioners
people who have spent careers close to kids and families, watching this get harder every year.

Why we built this
The right question isn't "how do we control this?" It's "how do we help kids become ready for it?"
We've spent a combined 25+ years helping teenagers figure out who they are. That work kept getting harder. And when families started asking us about phones, we realized no one was giving them a tool honest enough to actually help.
Headlamp for Families is our answer.
The team
Built close to families.
Every person on this team has spent years working with kids, families, and the technology that shapes them.

The assessment at the heart of Headlamp for Families isn't a checklist — it's a framework built from thousands of studies on adolescent development. Dr. Trevino synthesized the research across seven developmental dimensions so parents get a real picture of their child.
Expert insight, translated for today's family
Built with people who've spent their careers studying what parents need.
For more than two years, we brought a council of advisors into the work — pediatricians, therapists, psychologists, and product engineers — meeting regularly to pressure-test what we were building against what the evidence actually says.
22 advisors across pediatrics, psychology, product, and research

Formerly Meta · 18 years
There's a difference between understanding technology from the outside and knowing how it was actually designed. Blair spent years at Meta before turning his focus to family technology — and that insider perspective shapes how Headlamp for Families thinks about digital formation.

Pediatrics
Kellen Glinder
Pediatrician
Pediatrician
As a Silicon Valley pediatrician I have witnessed first-hand how children and families struggle with the introduction of devices. Headlamp now provides evidence-based, sensible guidance to help parents and kids collaborate on device use. I am all in. Dr. Glinder is a prominent Silicon Valley pediatrician, leader, innovator, and author who is excited to offer Headlamp to families in his practice and the surrounding community.

A lot of tools focus on behavior. Headlamp for Families focuses on the relationship underneath it. Kristina helps us stay honest about what formation — not compliance — actually looks like in practice.
